In a modern, rapidly developing world, the human factor is perhaps the most important factor of production. Therefore, the management company must maintain competent personnel policies that will enable employees to realize their full potential in the organization. Motivation and stimulation of personnel is the cornerstone of modern management. The results of the work of the organization depends on the engagement of staff in labour, the desire to benefit

Estucos y hormigones romanos de la ciudad de Baelo Claudia (Cádiz): Caracterización y causas de deterioro.

[EN]This paper presents the study of the nature and conservation state of different stuccos and Roman concretes from the Roman city of Baelo Claudia (Cádiz). The chemical, mineralogical and microstructural compositions of the said materials have been established. Different causes of their decay have been found, among which we should emphasize the loss of the binding material (lime), basically due to the processes of partial solubilization; the lack of bond between the stuccos and the support stone, due to the different characteristics and properties of these two materials; and finally, the biological-type attack with the proliferation and colonization of different organisms in the said materials.[ES]Se ha estudiado la naturaleza y estado de conservación de distintos estucos y hormigones romanos procedentes de la ciudad romana de Baelo Claudia (Cádiz). Peer reviewe

Educommunication: a new field of intervention of the Social Educator

    Get PDF
This article results from a research on the contributions Educommunication can give to Social Education. This work was carried out at the University Portucalense within the scope of the Master of Science in Education – Specialization in Social Education, which allowed us to conclude that Educommunication is an important new field for Social Education. This process will extend the knowledge of the Social Educator, as well as the scope of his/her professional behaviour. In our opinion, this is an original and innovative research since it is a fairly unexplored topic in Portuguese research so far

The decoded information from the Hc-4 molar in Equus stenonis requires renewing the Linnaeus paradigm

    Get PDF
Owing to the uncertainties and anomalies that are historically constants in the Linnaean paradigm, it happens that the phylogenetic data obtained from crown molars, although these morphologies are inherited, have a complementary scientific value with regard to the biochemical data. The Hc¿4 molar (Betic Cordillera, Spain) is analyzed in order to obtain new data using two techniques. Its crown wear section is a biomineralized embryonic morphology (retrogerminative technique), and its enamel line draws hexagonal marks (superimposition technique). These data are the foundations of the mitosis area loop development hypothesis during morphogenesis. The tooth structure is a germination process of the embryonic dermal masses (mitosis areas), and in relationship to (1) the moment they were born during loop process, (2) size, and (3) location when they constitute a specific cusps crown when they are petrified by an enamel mantle. In conclusion, Linnaean characteristics (morphology) are associated with two parameters: frequency percentage with which the cusps are inherited and their functional role. This parameters group is called ¿Biological Nature¿. The Reference Series in each molar is the biological nature values group positioned in linear order. The Reference Series of each linnaean holotype imply phylogenetic relationships using similarity percentages and the Linnaean uncertainties disappear from the phylogeny. If I express phenotype with the reference series and also the genotype (DNA) is displayed with a numerical sequence, then it happens that we have two numerical sequences and between them exist cause and effect relationshipPeer Reviewe

Development of a novel remanufacturing architecture for lithium-ion battery packs

    Get PDF
With a rapid growth in the lithium-ion battery technology, particularly in the automotive sector, remanufacturing concepts to ensure maximum efficiency levels may be seen as an attractive option. Such a process does not currently exist and the opportunity to undercut cost-intensive batteries and support green credentials is one which the market is now ready for, namely, an alternative to buying new. A feasible remanufacturing concept can further reduce the current total cost of ownership with an adequate solution under consideration of the current amount of battery pack returners. With this in mind, this research provides a transparent remanufacturing architecture, which can handle a capacity of 5,000 up to 20,000 battery packs per year, depending on the selected degree of automation, manual, hybrid or fully automated. Furthermore, different tools from a factory planning structures will be applied on purpose of an industrial feasible concept. In addition, the assessment considers diverse scenarios of the battery module reusability to ensure a realistic forecast. Consequently, the potential for this outlined concept will compete for an increasing sector of a global market, which is expected to rise to 1.3 billion cars by 2030 and there is a growing interest in electric vehicles. Therefore, any innovations in battery production (and which will include the concept of remanufacturing) have the opportunity to challenge existing business models of practice while further reducing costs for the future customer of tomorrow

Fixed Route Refueling-Strategy for Fuel Cell Trucks

    Get PDF
Road logistics are essential to ensure the smooth flow of production and delivery of goods to their destination. Heavy-duty transportation places high demands on the power supply and driving range. Fuel cell electric powertrains appear to be the most suitable solution in the context of zero-emission targets for long-haul trucks. While several companies are working on the development of drivetrains and vehicle concepts, the supply of the required hydrogen remains a challenge. Many uncertainties in the logistics industry are caused by the lack of hydrogen fuel stations. This paper presents a concept to detect suitable hydrogen fuel stations along a planned route and select those that minimize hydrogen consumption. The concept is applied to a known set of fuel stations in Germany and a fixed route defined by the operational task of the truck. First, fuel stations that are relevant to the operational task are identified. Then, the energy consumption of the refueling strategy is minimized by solving the fixed-route vehicle-refueling problem (FRVRP), taking into account vehicle characteristics and unknowns such as the precise distance to the refueling station. An external application programming interface provides the route information. The optimization is then implemented as a mixed integer program (MIP). The resulting strategy indicates the sequence of fuel stations that need to be visited to reach the route destination in the most energy-efficient way. The implementation of the strategy shows that the operation of heavy-duty hydrogen vehicles in Germany is feasible with certain boundary conditions. Therefore, integrating the refueling strategy into the navigation task to avoid running out of fuel is a step towards reaching the zero-emission targets
